My daughter has been recommended to the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme. I'm not exactly sure what that is, let alone what that will involve for her. If anyone has been in or knows what the program is, would you please explain it to me. The explaination I've received thus far is a bit sketchy, since her recommendation came a bit past the deadline there were a bunch of parent meetings I missed.

Do any good?

That's the explaination I've gotten so far. I like the idea of learning how to learn, that's good, but what is involved in the program, how does it work for the students and so on...

Maybe I should explain that I'm a bit of a 'nuts and bolts' person.

I didn't read the site too much, but it seems to focus on Art, Literature, and English a lot.
Doesn't Caity want to go into the Sciences?

Yeah, she does. But found the IB home site. Their curriculum includes science, math, and technology.

Hello again all. My kid was accepted to the IB Program at her school. She's excited about the summer homework, which includes talking with people from other countries about their culture.

If anyone is interested in chatting with a 12 year old, please let me know, especially if you know another child about the same age who would be interested in chatting an American.
