I suppose we all knew it was coming and now it's official. I am really going to miss that show even if Maher irritated me a lot.

Well I am going to really miss the show. And I liked Maher. Bummer.

I just liked the sarcasm - guess I'll have to find another.

I enjoyed seeing the token theist take on the token freethinker. Guess I'll have to go elsewhere for my weekly religion-bashing. The Daily Show anyone?

If there was one show I could watch, The Daily Show would be it.

Maybe PI will go back to Comedy Central where it was funnier and Maher wasn't nearly as big a jerk....

It would be the perfect follow-up to TDS sort of like it's the perfect follow-up to Nightline now.

That man (Bill Maher) is a pompous ass, possibly worse then Rush Limbaugh but less informed. I for one will not miss that show AT ALL. What ever ABC puts on won't be less entertaining. I hope! What with the state of intelligence of the public and the media heads, who knows, though.

Bill Maher was on Larry King Live tonight. In case you missed it you can read the transcript here: http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0205/24/lkl.00.html
The first half of the show was basically "What will you do now?" The really interesting comments, I thought, start about half way down.

I hate to break it to you folks, but Bill Maher absolutely represents political correctness. He's so middle of the road, democrat liberal, I believe he's Hillary's long lost twin. Only his guests ever had any balls. He hid behind radical guests with nothing of value to say. This is a guy who tried (and consequently failed miserably) to take down Ted Nugent for being pro-gun, pro-hunting, pro-family, and pro-America. Well, I'm all those things. Bill Maher is an effeminate, soft, urbanite, pampered sissy. I don't agree with everything The Nuge says. But he represents me a helluva lot better than that nancy-boy Maher

Maher was no fan of organized religion and he made that abundantly clear on his show. Even though I share many of his liberal opinions, I respect him for that alone.

Unfortunately, he is also a big fan of (unorganized, I suppose) religion and the supernatural, which he also made abundantly clear on his show.

Granted, although I think Maher was enough of a deist that he rarely invoked supernatural explanations and "mysterious ways" nonsense. He criticised religion far more than he praised God. In any case, until skeptical atheism becomes acceptable in media personalities, I'll take what I can get.
