Note that those people seemed to find it funny that a good man like Sagan is now burning forever. This is the kind of attitude that the christians used to have when they were burning people at the stake. It seems that the old hatred is still there.
Again, this refutes the xtian claim of greater compassion. You'll note when you go to the article, that Philip Johnson was there. He's a lawyer-old-earth creationists who likes to complain about how shabby the evolutionists are treating the creationists. Someone should tell him that is your group of people is finding the eternal suffering of a decent person funny, then, quite frankly, they have NO damned right to complain about how they are being treated.
One bright spot is that the website that complains of the fundy activity is run by other, more liberal (ie. more kind) christians. Not all xtians have the hatred in them that the fundies do. For example, the leader of AU is a Reverend Barry Lynn.
(I'll be posting some details on just how much more moral Carl Sagan was than at least one creationist, Marvin Lubenow, but it'll have to wait-- you'll see what I mean).

Some days I wonder if there might actully be a God. Maybe I'm wrong in assuming there isn't.
Then I see jokes like Slater's.
