Here's a new one from our old friend Jack Chick at: http://www.chick.com/reading/books/179/179concl.asp
Here's some of the things that this William guy has to say: quote: The question becomes, "How do you know that what you are doing is safe? How do you know that it isn't satanic, even in the lower degrees? Even if you're just a witch and not a magician, are you still in grave danger?"
Sadly, you are. Jesus tells us that anyone who is not with Him is against Him (Matthew 12:30). To be "with" Jesus means to accept Him as your Savior and make Him absolute Lord of your life. If you are a "white" witch, you probably either don't believe in Jesus at all, or you believe He was a great sage or wise man or adept, perhaps even a witch Himself. That is not the true Jesus!
Who Really Is Jesus?
Jesus is not a sage or adept, He is the Almighty Lord God of the Universe who came in the flesh, died and shed His blood for you. If you aren't trusting in that Jesus and that blood for your eternal destiny, then heartbreakingly, you are in Satan's camp.
You are part of a system of ritual which is ultimately controlled by Satan! It doesn't matter if you don't believe in Satan, he's still there and he's still horrifyingly real! Just because you don't believe in gravity doesn't mean that if you jump off a cliff you won't get splattered all over the landscape! The law of gravity cannot be violated with impunity, and neither can the laws of God.
If you think Satan is just a Christian myth, you are whistling in the dark. All you have to do is look over your shoulder and he is there, keeping his eye on his toy — YOU!
Of course, we can't see him there, but then why the hell should we bother looking over our shoulder then? Anyway, back to the rant... quote:
You don't have to be sacrificing virgins or turning crosses upside down to be a satanist! All you have to do is spurn Jesus Christ and you are a satanist! If you remember nothing else from this book, remember this:
ALL pagan religions are controlled by Satan!
It doesn't matter if you worship Pan or Krishna or Diana or Thor; the face behind the mask of your god is Satan's. Even if you are a purported atheist, you are still worshiping Satan; for you have undoubtedly made one element your idol (the center of your life): whether it's power, money, knowledge, freedom or some other ideal.
He also said: quote: The "hoofprints" of Satan were all over Wicca, and they were literally on me! As a High Priest, I did one ceremony invoking my "higher self" or Holy Guardian Angel. The being who man-ifested caused a candle in the temple to erupt violently. A little ball of fire or hot wax (I'll never know for sure which) shot across the room and hit me in the forearm, leaving a searing brand in the precise shape of a cloven hoof. By that time, I saw it as a great blessing!
If anyone knows anyone who's in Wicca (just another superstition to me, but anyway...) who has anything to say about this?
[red]Also I should point out that Jack Chick got nailed for using a phony "account" by a "doctor" named Rebecca Brown, whose story turned out to be completely bull. If anyone know anything about THAT, please post here, as I forgot the url that originally had that story e

Wiccans annoy me, but there's hardly anything satanic about the religion.

To a cross? We can only hope.

I find it a bit strange, that I am according to him a satanist if I don't believe in the existance of God or the supernatural in general, but have made knowledge, truth or love or some other ideal the center of my life.
Of course he conveniently ignores that some of the roots of todays paganism predate christianity. He also ignores that the bible there are magicans who were not tools of the devil.
He might be right to a degree when he says that modern pagans often come close to devil worship. That is because all the different version of hell and the devil were patterned after pagan gods. The problem is that Pan was Pan a long time before the christians made him Satan.
He also just assumes that it is selfevident that worshipping Satan is somehow worse than following Jesus, I am not convinced about this.
Ofcourse the whole point is mood since God, Satan, pagan deities and magik do not actually exist.

"Sadly, a majority of the people we tried to help got worse! Many of them became either so filled with their own egos that they could never relate to anyone else or they sank into the mire of drugs or liquor. Two or three went quite insane!"
I can certainly understand why some might get a fat head or need a little booze or, even flip out. I'm sure that his new flock continues to do so. Yeesh!

Something smells fish(people)y. Why is it that Xians claim that they were Atheists or Agnostics or in William Schnoebelen's case Wiccan, and then not know know about them?

Well in his defence you could say that Wicca and witchcraft are not really well-defined. Many people who consider themselves witches have quite different opinions about what that means.
But I am not very inlined to defend him. It appears tom that Schnoebelen is a professional ex-cultist and self appointed expert on many topics.
He is an ex-mormon, ex-mason, ex-wicca and an expert on UFOs the Middle-east and Nuclear and Biologiacl weapons.
I have also heard that he authored accounts about the truth behind the Roman Catholic Church and Jehovah's Witnesses. I don't know if he was a member in those cults, too. I guess his accounts on the satanic truth behind martial arts means that he is a black-belt. He also wrote stuff on homeopathy, ghosts, new agers and cults in general.
He also is a leading expert on the dangers on role playing.
The strange thing is that he spends years and in some cases decades to become an expert on some subject and finally saw throgh the lies and found Jesus. Several times!
The pattern is getting old.
Call me when he finds out the satanic truth behind Jesus.
addendum:
List of his claimed accomplishment:
- A Catholic Priest
- A high degree Mason
- A Wiccan High Priest in several different traditions
- A Druid
- A Bishop in the Gnostic Church
- A Mormon
- A Satanist

But what a strange sales pitch. He sounds like George on Seinfeld
"I was wrong again and again and again about religion. I always got in deep and I was always wrong, consistently dead wrong. And that's why you should listen to me about religion now!"
