If you ever see a URL like this beware. Notice the odd characters in the URL.

URLs that look like this are very likely going to do something bad like steal your cookies. Not only does it have the odd characters but note the frame1 reference. That combined with characters is a big hint that it's not a good link to click.

Steal your cookies!

Cookies are bad enough.

Can it get any worse?

I disagree that cookies are bad. They have their uses. It's their misuse which is bad.

I admit that cookies frighten me--perhaps because I don't know enough about what's in the individual cookie's code and perhaps because I tend to err on the side of personal-privacy.

I do know that some uses of cookies can be extremely useful and, back in the early days of "what can a personal computer do?", I was a big fan of having it do all kinds of automated tasks for the user---most of which would be done through small resident programs.

"Cookies" would have been a great name for such programs---good kinds of stuff. While indifferent about cookies, you seldom seem to hear a good word about them.
