Not one of their better works. I kinda liked the story about looking at a woman's boobs for 10 minutes per day increased men's lifespans.

What a load of B.S.

They did a Fox Special presenting the evidence on behalf of the hoax believers and every single bit of the "evidence" they claim to have can be easily debunked. There are only a hundred different sites that offer evidence to the contrary.

We did go to the moon.

Actually I'd say the funniest thing I've ever seen on a tabloid cover was a picture with the caption: "O.J. Simpson almost kills self in terrible depression."

In the picture is a smiling O.J. Simpson who looks like he is laughing at something and a digitally edited hand holding a gun has been placed in the picture pointing at him. The bad part is that the angle of the gun looks like it is impossible for him to have been holding it. The even worse part is that the hand holding the gun belonged to a white guy.

If I can find it I'll post it here later.

Can't get the link to work, but I can pretty much figger out what it says. The Weekly World News is one of a kind, even amongst the other grocery store drama.

Yes, they who brought us Bat Boy and the face of Satan in the clouds. And the worlds fattest man/woman/child/head, and so forth, who has been missing and presumably absconded with a hot brunette, gender uncertain. I love it!

WWN is, I think, a grand jest played upon us by someone with a really foul sense of humor. No one in their right mind could believe such nonsense. Could they?

Hmmm. Mayhaps.......

As you can see by my avatar, I am a big fan of the Weekly World News. I would love to write for them. Imagine writing for a "newspaper" without being the least bit encumbered by things like facts. It's satire....

I strongly believe that the writers for the weekly world news don't take themselves seriously. (ex. Watch the Mike Meyers movie So I married an axe murderer., where his parents refer to it as "the paper")

The stuff they have is so far out, I doubt even most of the UFO people, and those other gullible ones even believe it.

After a thorough looking at their web page, I came across this:

(Emphasis mine)

Now, how can anyone take this seriously.
I rather like this, they obviously have a sense of humour.

Heh, probably the same people who believe in the phone psychics, even though it's "for entertainment purposes only".

Hmmmm. Actually the "headline" currently flashing on link's page reads

AL QAEDA BREEDING KILLER MOSQUITOES
One of the biggest killers in the World is Malaria--a single-celled parasite spread by mosquitoes. Were someone to successfully breed a strain of malaria which would be viable in northern climes....

I thought malaria was viable in northern climes. The area I live in, (south western Sweden), used to be malaria infested a few hundred years ago.
I've also heard that several of the species of mosquitoes living here are potential malaria carriers.

I have no references. Does anybody know more about this?

OK found some.

Seems the malaria parasite lost the battle in the western world when swamps, bogs and other mosquito habitats disappeared. Housing became better and people moved away from the livestock. Medicine also helped reduce the risk of spreading the disease. The last domestic case in Sweden was 1933.

Ahh. Seemingly my error. I had always thought that malaria was purely a tropical disease.

A bit off topic, but if I recall correctly, one of the ongoing environmental debates is that the insistence of the environmentalists that we stop using DDT is that millions of people are dying of malaria, and that the evidence used to say DDT is harmful to the environment and humans is flimsy.

I know that some mosquitoes carry malaryia, here they can carry West Nile Virus, but I doubt Usama is in a little cave with a plexi-glass box full of mosquitoes, and is making them breed a higly toxic virus.

Utter nonsense! There are far too many more efficent ways of poisoning your neighors than to mess around with 'skeeters. WWN is just trying to bug us.

With modern medicine, malaria is not nearly the threat it once was. DDT, on the other hand, has been shown to thin the egg shells of birds. It has caused the decimation of several raptors, pelicans, and others. Fortunatly, most of these species are on the rebound since the banning of DDT.
