I don't really celebrate Xmas, except for the consumeristic part.

We(my family and I) have a tree, but it is mostly for putting ornaments that have very little to do with the season. We give presents, but mostly I let my parents buy them and put my name on.(I'm not a very good gift buyer). We decorate the outside of our house, but that is only because my dad found a set of lights 50 feet long for only two bucks.

Most of our celebration is just so we don't seem so weird.

I have been skeptical of just about every irrational thing for as long as I can remember. Christmas was my late (also skeptic) husband's favorite holiday (party time), so Christmastime has been rather somber since his passing.

Knows what?
I can't stop shopping for all the xmas bargains. Each day I say to myself, I'm not going out but I keep thinking, maybe there's something on sale at a really good price and I'M going to miss it.
Today I bought the cutiest orniment, a rolly polly Santa about the size of my palm. He's holding a banner between his hands that says 'Believe'. And I do.
I also got a bunch of what are supposed to be trimming for the tree. Strings of red plastic beads and stars. I'm going to make a curtain out of them to place in a doorway. Cool! And it only cost me around $6 but I have to buy somesort of dowll to hang them on, unless someone has any suggestions.
So you see there's more to Xmas than you think.

I learned something ... I learned that Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate Halloween. I guess they don't like strangers going up to their door and annoying them.
