Is there a bush that spontaneously bursts into flame to reproduce?
Yep.

The leading candidate is Dictamnus albus, a flowering shrub that grows to a height of about two feet. Native to a wide swath of Europe and Asia, as well as Israel, it's commonly called "fraxinella," "dittany," and, more pertinently for our story, "gas plant"
and "burning bush." On warm days D. albus exudes vapor that readily ignites if you hold a match to it, and can even ignite all by itself if the sun is hot enough. The vapor burns so quickly that it doesn't consume or even damage the plant.

To all things clergic, I am allergic.

MissN, Yahweh got his start as a volcano god, like his cousin Pele. You don't even need a gas plant for him.

I learned something ... I learned that Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate Halloween. I guess they don't like strangers going up to their door and annoying them.

Related topic to this thread: I recently heard, while spinning the dial, one of those TV preachers (the one from Chatanooga, can't recall his name just yet) say that there is physical proof that the miracles mentioned in the bible actually occurred. And since there is evidence proof positive then that is proof positive that "God" exists. He had a "so called" skeptic bible expert on the stage who stammered when presented with this conundrum. I really was embarassed for him, he never challenged the evidence.

Does anyone know of the evidence this preacher is referring to? Did I miss something? Is it something like what the creationist have?

You can "believe" what you want, but you do have to get your science right or you'll flunk science.

They would have to find herds (or at least metionings of them) of grashoppers, frogs, fish, flies and so on only to prove Exodus! And they had to find Noah's Arc - okay, they found it ten times yet, but I got the slight believe that these are fakes.

I think he's referring to the fact that areas that are desert nowadays have been jungle before. Some idiots really seem to think this proves paradise.

WHAT NONSENSE! ITS A MAGICAL BUSH! IT DOESN'T BURN UP WHEN IGNITED! WHAT A LOAD. IT IS A RESINOUS BUSH. IN DRY CONDITIONS, WHEN ITS MOISTURE CONTENT IS LOW, IT WILL BURN. IT WILL ALSO BURN UP. IT ALSO HAS A LEMON SCENT THAT IS VOLATILE, ENOUGH TO MAKE A MATCH BURN A LITTLE BRIGHTER. I THOUGH THIS WAS A SKEPTICS WEB SITE.
