Here is a very cool site...
Parry-Hill, Burdett and Davidson of the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory at Florida State University, Tallahassee have posted a wonderful Java Applet. The Applet begins with a view from 10 million light years from the Milky Way and then moves in by steps of 1/10th to an oak tree outside the buildings of the Laboratory and then continues down to sub-atomic objects to the point beyond which we are ignorant.
For those who are amazed by the natural world, go to: http://www.micro.magnet.fsu.edu/primer/java/scienceopticsu/powersof10/

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

ahhhh..."Powers of Ten"
A classic! It was available in book form, and as a short film, back in the 70s. I'm glad to see that it's still around!
Thanks Kil |

Got the book too. |

Is my memory playing tricks on me, or did the film version of this that used to run in a loop at the Air and Space Museum zoom in on a woman who was sunbathing near an airport?
