I hope y'all find it interesting and informative.

* Higher levels of belief among people with no college education
Hum! I don't trust surveys.
My mother told me I was 3 when I stated 'there is no god'. That was long before I didn't get a college education, which I still don't have....a belief in god or a college degree.
Although Walt, yes, it is interesting. I also like to know how the questions are worded and how they swayed the answers, in any servey.

Well, Snake, that's what happens to early non-believers. The atheism causes you to not go to college. (insert big, silly grin here)

I wonder why an average of 90% believe in God, however only 68 percent believe in the devil....

I thought that they would go together

Edited because I'm a spastic typer

Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it's a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from.

I remember hearing someone speculate that it's because Satan doesn't actually get mentioned much. A quick search of an online Bible (NIV) shows the name only appears 15 times in the OT and 33 times in the NT. By comparison, 'Jesus' is in the NT 1,281 times.

There's also that business about Satan just being a metaphor for a person's baser instincts, etc..

They're only claiming the poll was accurate to within 2%, Gorgo.

I don't think that education level has much to do with it. I think it is the desire for knowledge that is most influential.

I have only an 8th grade, formal education, but I've always been a very heavy reader. Us chronic readers, we tend to think somewhat more than those who limit themselves to the morning paper. I sometimes wonder if 90% of the population reads even that, little bit. Of course, people tend to read stuff that makes them feel good. And the papers, and other media, are all about increasing circulation. Hand in hand, yes?

Damn, but I love the 'net! everything and anything I might ever want to study is right there in my keyboard, waiting to be summoned to the magic screen. The computer geeks, not some god, have blessed me with this marvelous gift.
