What if you had a way to overthrow their government without anything bad happening to you?

It's their country. If they want to get rid of the taliban over there, they should go take care of business.

First rule of forming any cult or dictatorship, control the information. Maybe cutting off the phone lines is next so nobody can call an infidel country. Wouldn't be surprised with this lot.

They probably would cut all the phone lines.
Also how do you know there aren't people who want them overthrown over there?

Considering that Afganistan has been in a state of civil war since the Soviets left, I would guess that many groups would be very eager to see the Taliban go.

This, of course, raises the question: would this new group (supposing the Taliban is overthrown) be any better?

and rightly so. if the state can control the information avalable to the public, then it has a good chance of limiting the range of "anti-social" thought. George Orwell expresses it so much better than i in his essay on "newspeak".

Don't worry. With a little re-education I'm sure we can teach Bestonnet to love the state. Now let me see. Where did I put those rats?
