You get the impression from one of the early contracts awarded for rebuilding Iraq that we are fighting to pad the pockets of the administrations friends. How so you ask? Well, Dick Cheney's ex-employer Halliburton Co.(Details) which might seem to be a coincidence but since there are other capable firms out there I say it's anything but.

People have derided the Bush-oil connection but here is a big Fuck you to the American people and every serviceman that has died so that Bush's supporters can pad their wallets. I really don't care if anyone wants to get upset at me for calling them on this. Go ahead and try and argue for this bullshit if you want to. Flies and shit, they go together.

So this war seems to be a war to liberate your tax dollars and deliver them to political allies. Ahhh ain't America grand!

I'm sure there's some truth there, @tomic. The idea that we're just going to waltz into Baghdad and sell democracy was ridiculous from the outset.

I will add the way the contracts for these jobs were awarded was quite dubious to say the least. Apparently it was all hush-hush and only a few companies were invited to offer bids, no public bids, no lowest bidder wins as is typical with government contracts. Amazing that Cheney's ex-company was one of those and one to win a huge multi-million dollar contract.

No argument from here. This administration is arguably the most corrupt in our history.

Hopfully, the election of '04 will be looked back upon as, "The Big Flush."
