Yes, I read that one.
It lends a bit of support an hypothosis of my very own: Give an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typwriters, for an infinite amount of time, and you will see produced an infinite number of wrecked typwriters. Probably on the first day.
The interesting part of this apparent nonsense is the monkey's awareness of cause and effect -- hit a key and the screen changes.
Edited to add: I wonder how long it took the monkeys to discover that, and did any of them become selective. The frequency of 'S' showing up seems to indicate that they might have.
Thanks for posting it!

Perhaps, that the monkeys mostly defecated on the computer showed a high level of sophistication on the part of the primates. Could it be that the monkeys were commenting on their human keepers break from nature? Might this be a statement about technology in general and how overly reliant on it we have become? Could it be that they were simply acting out, for arts sake, what many humans would like to do to their own computers?
Was the computer a PC or a Mac? That might also mean something.... |
Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.
Why not question something for a change?
