Fox is taking Al Franken to court for the title of his new book...

"Lies, and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right."

As they say, any publicity is good publicity, from It's Fair to Say Fox's Lawsuit Lacks Balance

quote:
Before news of the lawsuit broke Monday, Franken's book reportedly languished at No. 489 in sales on Amazon.com. By Wednesday afternoon it had reached No. 1. And the thing won't even be available until Sept. 22.

Ain't it beautiful? I'll bet Franken is kicking himself for not thinking of it first.

Then again, maybe he did think of it and is seeing his scheme coming to fruitation.

What's gonna happen, I think, is that the suit will be tossed for the frivilous bullshit that it is, and our boy Al and his publisher will will pocket many, large, well-deserved bucks.

On a side note. I've read that the idiot O'Riley lobbied the station to press the suit, thereby earning himself a place near the top of the laughingstock order, only slightly below the CA Recall (no offense to y'all CA guys, but you should see that nonsense from our perspective. Hoo boy!).

We are the state that sent Nixon and Reagan to the white house and B1 Bob Dornan to congress. Tough acts to follow? Not when you are the entertainment capital of the nation. Enjoy the show...

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.

HA! Fox - (what a joke for a "news" organization!) Aren't they basically the same bunch of Bozos who tried to convince the World that NASA never went to the moon, despite overwhelming evidence?

Diversity, independence, innovation and imagination are progressive concepts ultimately alien to the conservative mind.

"TAX AND SPEND" IS GOOD! (TAX: Wealthy corporations who won't go poor even after taxes. SPEND: On public works programs, education, the environment, improvements.)

I wasn't, and am still not, paying a lot of attention to the Moon Hoax blather. But I seem to recall that Fox did a couple of shows 'supporting' it, while putting forth no official opinion themselves.

Pretty clever, if you ask me. Capture the nitwit audience without actually committing yourself to nonsense (it is said that all of Fox's audience are nitwits, but, being Fair and Balanced myself, I refuse to repeat it).

I got married the day a man walked on the Moon. What a black day in our history that was.

See Franken go head to head with Bill O'Reilly.

Quite amusing really......

A judge threw out one of the Fox News claims, and they've withdrawn the lawsuit. Franken, no doubt, is laughing all the way to the e-bank.

BTW, Time magazine this week has a one-page interview with Franken about the controversy. Pretty funny. One of the questions is, "Would you ever run for political office?" He replies (I'm paraphrasing), "No way. I'd be terrified to have that kind of responsibility. I'm terrified at having the responsibility of writing a comedy book."
