We can all argue until we are blue in the face regarding the War against Terrorism, but I was watching the news just then and there was a shot of Bush and Blair walking out to be greeted by the press after the bombings in Istanbul. It struck me when I saw the look on their faces that they must be under the most immense pressure.
Whether they have made the right decision or not, the bed has been made and they have to lie in it, but with these guys the whole world sees every sordid detail and we all expect answers for every action pertaining to their plight. I just hope things turn around soon.
I get upset when I stuff up at work and cop a serve from my boss, how must these people feel when there are 70,000 to 200,000 (depending what news channel you watch) that are baying for your blood. These guys just seem to have ultra thick skins.
You wouldn't be a politician for nuts, or would you?
When I am under pressure at work or at home, I go surfing and just for a moment when you ride the wave you forget about your problems. Unfortunately they are still there when you pull of your wetsuit in the car park. How do you all deal with the day-to-day pressures in life?

Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it's a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from.

By coming here, actually. The people here (and I do mean all of them) make me think. Day-to-day life often doesn't. |

I'm one of the lucky few; I have absolutely no "day to day pressure". I've arranged my life in such a way as to minimize the stresses of mundane life. The most stressful things I have to deal with are the religious and political trends that are occuring in the world, but none of that actually touches me personally. I guess you could say that my existence is idyllic. I actually feel sorry for everone who isn't me! |

Yeah, yeah, you'll all be laughing out of the other side of your faces (what the hell does that mean, anyway?) when we get to the afterlife, and you all find out that I'm God! How do I know I'm God? Well, I was praying one day, and suddenly realized that I was talking to myself!
P.S. I guess I'd better credit Peter O'Toole for that, as I wouldn't want to be accused of plagiarizing! |

I'd believe you oh Lord Walt, except I'm still pretty convinced that God is female. |

Chippewa, as any fully-realized Fristoeian could tell you, The Walt can be whatever sex it wants to be, even more than one sex at the same time, or even completely asexual. Such is the power of The Walt.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go work on some plans for a giant telescope atop Olympus Mons to be dedicated as a temple to The Walt... |

Gee, it's only been around for 31 years.
Oh, but we're getting away from the subject matter of the thread, which (despite gezzam's OP) is praising The Walt.
