I have had a fever of over 100 all day. But my guess is that isn't what you meant. Thanks for asking though.... |

No, your fever wasn't what I meant, but do I hope you feel better soon.
That is nice of you to be concerned Dave. As far as earthquakes go, it's no biggie. I was born in California (lived through some 'major' ones) and have yet to worry much about them. We have pretty strick building codes so don't have disasters like in other countries. I have a very good long time friend who lives in Paso Roblas, where this one just took place. Have yet to hear from her. Three people, so it said on the news did die from an old building falling down. Wrong place, wrong time, can happen to anyone, as it does more often on the freeway. Too bad but what can one do. Thank you again for thinking of us. Snake
ps. kind of funny story about it. We were in the bank talking to a friend/teller who works there. I was sitting down, Dennis was standing. He suddenly felt he had to sit because he was feeling dizzy. The ground sort of wabbled. He didn't even know what was happening until we got outside when I told him. Then on the radio we heard other people saying the same thing, they thought they were ill from being dizzy. Never heard that reaction before about an earthquake, strange! Kil.....I hope you've stopped smoking while you are really ill. Feel better. |

Heck, way up here in my neck of the woods I didn't even feel it. Too bad about those who died, though; I feel sad for thier loved ones who've been deprived of their companionship. |

I happened to be driving when the quake happened (en route from Studio City to Burbank).
I didn't notice a thing. When I got to where I was going, the receptionist there remarked that she had felt it, but in the car whatever shaking we got was indistinguishable from the normal vibrations from the wonderful smoothness of our roads. |

That's about the only possitive thing can say about the terrible traffic we have out here. Usualy one doesn't feel a quake while on the road. Unless of course, a freeway overpass falls on them. |

Happy Birthdayto me, happy birthday to me. Well, no Earth shattering earthquakes today, although I would have loved to have one on my special day the rest of it was fun anyway. Thank you, Snake |

I live in a great vacation state (Michigan) where we never get much of anything awful (except snow and sometimes mild windstorms). Of course, here we all gripe about the snow (endured over a foot of the stuff last Wednesday, January 14, 2004). So, nothing's perfect. Also, up here, it is lousy for amateur astronomy. Amateur astronomers and astronomy enthusiasts have to double as meteorologists in order to survive. Then again, there is a lot of time for reading (or for contemplation, if one prefers)--or going online.
So, hearing about all of the awful stuff which goes on elsewhere is really depressing. Reality is tough to endure. Then again, if one has no problems, one has no solutions....
