From the Real Life is being written and directed by the Shade of Ed Wood Department: FBI issues alert for almanac carriers .

Meanwhile, there was nothing new from the Ministry of Silly Walks.

OH MY GOD.... My girlfriend has an almanac book that she carries around. I better be careful with her. She always say how glad she is for being born into the western society, because of how muslims treat their women, but now I realize it's all been a clever guise!

This comes as a suprise, how?

It is, I think, another sign of hidden turmoil within the administration, much like the 'Orange Alert' (is anyone actually paying attention to that crap?) we currently have.

Thus far, everything Bush & Co. has touched has turned to shit. I think they are getting desperate to keep us dummies distracted. Remember also that the FBI has an inglorious history of being a tool for the administration in office. Exceptions to this were during the Clinton years, when they were all but activly opposed to and persuing him, and during the J. Edgar Hoover decades, when it was mainly a tool for it's rather vicious and arguablly insane director.

It would be funny if they were not so serious about it.

I keep hoping that I'll wake up and find out that it's April 2nd and we've all been had by a truly glorious joke.

Are you sure this isn't an article from The Onion?

WTF?

What's next on the Ashcroft list of subversive reading material? Maps? Coffee table books with pictures of bridges and lighthouses? Crossword puzzle books (hey, there could be CODES written in them...?)

Hey, I thought capturing Saddam was supposed to make us more safe. I see now I should instead really fear my dad, who gets an almanac every Christmas.

We have nothing to fear but our fear of our government, itself!

Nope, 'tis the real deal. I found it at both Buzzflash and Drudge (yeah yeah, I know. Drudge sucks whale whangers, but it's still worth keeping track of).

I am ordering a 2004 copy of the Old Farmers, instanter.
