Actually, I believe the theory is that the ice in the glaciers removed so much water from the oceans that a land bridge (not an ice bridge) connected Asia to N. America. As well, geologists have found that the N. American continent was out of the water many miles out into the Pacific at the time, and this particular area was ice-free.
As well, some geologists think that large parts of Siberia were virtually ice-free in the last glacial period.
Migration has nothing to do with it - the various animals (followed by hunters) just travelled along a pleasant area with lots of nice grass to eat and eventually wandered out into the great american plains as the ice melted away.

And I'm not sure what you mean about the pyramids. If you're trying to connect the Egyptian pyramids with the Mayan pyramids, you have to know that the human migration to N. America predated the pyramids by many thousands of years.

Next time I stick my foot in my mouth.. I will do a little studying first. Thank you. Do you know any books or sites that I can look at regarding the glacial periods? I would like to know how were the temperatures then as opposed to now.
* I hope those glaciers aren't still melting.

Most answers need questions.

This is a really good place to start, it has a polar projection map showing the maximum extent of the ice sheets during the most recent ice age, 18000 years ago.
