Mistakes are a part of being human. Appreciate your mistakes for what they are: precious life lessons that can only be learned the hard way. Unless it's a fatal mistake, which, at least, others can learn from.

Why do I not find this surprising? |
...no one has ever found a 4.5 billion year old stone artifact (at the right geological stratum) with the words "Made by God." No Sense of Obligation by Matt Young

They (Women Marines) don't have a nickname, and they don't need one. They get their basic training in a Marine atmosphere, at a Marine Post. They inherit the traditions of the Marines. They are Marines. LtGen Thomas Holcomb, USMC Commandant of the Marine Corps, 1943

Read the cite thoroughly and don't understand the word "liberal" applied to the cited scientists. Think that they sound very "conservative" in their worries...even "war-hawkish" since they are concerned about things that are killing Americans and that usually is called "being strong on National Defense."
Which is to say that it sounds as if the Bush Administration...various Bush-appointees...are in the business of making war on the American people...of promoting the killing of American people...and isn't that usually called "being soft on Defense?" Or is it called "terrorism?"
And the Clinton/Bush Administrations have not done the suppression/distortion of science for any idealistic or religious reasons...just for more money, for increased profit on various business speculations.
After all, the guys in gezzam's cite are real scientists...and not the ones promoting economic advantage through genetic modifications. The whole cite is enough to make you sort of ANGRY, if it is true.
Maybe this kind of thing is why yo just responded to gezzam's "Who for President" poll with the Bush-fired EPA Administrator, ex-Governor Christine Whitman, for President and the pro-environment ex-Interior Secretary/Minister, ex-Governor Bruce Babbit, to be Vice President.
We're dying at a rapidly increasing rate due to environmental and ecological plundering. It's time to dump the present silly and dangerous system for choosing the President and the Vice President.
Maybe just following the Constitution's method to pick the top two executive officers of the United States would be a much better way to go. After all, "It's the Law!"

Post scripted afterthought: Yes. Don't think that things were too much different under the ecologically evil gaggle of Clinton-appointees. Remember the trees? While Clinton saved vast areas of WASTELAND...remember the oil leases? Remember Pacific Lumber and other northwestern logging interests that Clinton gave in to for votes? Remember the ecologically magnificent Arkansan site called "Whitewater" and the plans that Messrs. Clinton...Rudolf the red-nose and Rodham the Hun...had to despoil it for Land-profiteering? For money, money and yet more money?
The dynamic Clinton co-Presidency were at least as bad as the W. Presidency is...it's just that the Dynamic Clinton Duo hid the environmental rot better than W. does. |
