The Health FolderModerated by Dave W. and Valiant Dancer The Health Folder is one of the forums available on the Skeptic Friends Network.
This is the place in which to discuss issues related to health. Human, animal, or vegetable; mainstream or alternative; Eastern or Western; dualistic or holistic; homeopathic or allopathic; mental or physical: if you've got something you'd like to talk about, related to getting or staying healthy, this is the folder in which to post your thoughts.
This folder is intended to be as inclusive as possible with regards to health topics. For a few examples of what might be discussed here:- Genetically-Modified Foods: safe or unsafe?
- Should Congress decide what's healthy, or should it be up to scientists?
- 'Nilla Wafers - the hidden death snack?
- Can colonic irrigation fix ingrown toenails?
This is not, of course, an all-inclusive list.
It is important to note that you should not seek to have any disease or condition diagnosed by people in this forum, nor should you seek suggestions for treatment of any disease or condition you might have here. For those sorts of issues, you need to see your own health professional (for whom diagnosis of disease over the Internet would be an ethical violation). This is a forum devoted to skeptical discussions about health matters, not a forum in which you can find out what that strange pimple on your thigh really is.
Prior to posting, please take a look at the FAQ, including our intellectual property policies.
Here's a link to the New Topic page for the Health Folder, if you're ready to make a post. If you're not yet registered, click here, first.
If you need to speak privately to a moderator of this forum, you can send a PM to Dave W. or send a PM to Valiant Dancer.
Please reply to this thread only if you'd like to comment on the Health Folder itself. All other thoughts, including suggestions for topics of discussion, should be posted as replies to topics already listed in the folder, or as New Topics. Thank you.
