Hope you're keeping up with the new zingers from Piper to add to your Plithera of Pithy Piperisms. (or not so Pithy).
I refuse to post directly to the moron anymore. I'll comment on his posts, but I'll always refer to him in third person and not direct anything at him. It's like talking to a brick wall.
quote: I have a different method. I do not easily adopt new ideas until I have checked them thoroughly, looked into the research as much as possible, etc. Therefore, I am less likely to discard anything which I have really checked out, except when new, contrary, information comes along to take its place.
I'd tend to agree with this philosophy. I'm highly skeptical of all claims, scientific or otherwise. Everybody (it seems to me at any rate) seems to have already come to the conclusion there is life on mars even though there are some doubts about that meteorite with the 'fossils'. It may be true, but I want more proof.
Evolution, the big bang, that we landed on the moon, all of those I have seen more then enough evidence to know they are true, and it would take an enormous amount of evidence against it now to make be doubt. BUT show me the evidence and i WILL change my mind.
I keep getting called dogmatic, but that is hardly the case. Just because I don't willy nilly believe in creationism because some quack shows me a polystratite fossilized tree stump or disbelieve the moon landing because of an igloo with an antenna that is really the ding dang lunar rover.
Rant over :)

Just checked out that guys web site about the Man and Bird Sculpture thingie on Mars.
"It is the sculpture in rock of a Man with a beard, and it looks to me like he has asian or oriental features (I am only sure of the fact he has human features). He is wearing a decorated stocking type cap that falls over his shoulder and it has a ball on the end of it".
Now, this sounds like Santa Clause to me.

Piper just posted this nugget of wisdom-
quote: It seems a lot of you debunkers make that same mistake. It seems you only give NASA credit for fantasies and then forget they exist when reality happens along.
Okay, Is still too early in the morning or does anybody else need a translation for this one?

I'll admit, it's a strange way to fake the moon landings, but it made it possible for NASA to get away with it for over thirty years, and they probably would have gotten away with it forever had I not come along. Not only was it a strange way to fake the moon landings, there are some very strange and fantastic little artificial things on the ground in those Apollo photos. It's been quite an adventure and education for me, and it's no where near over yet.
Emphasis mine. I think this pretty much sums up Piper. To understand him, you need to look at his statements as the prostelyization[sp] of a religious zealot. If he put some effort into it, he could be the next David Koresh.

Translations for the clinically sane and mentally unimpared.
[sarcasm]
quote: It seems a lot of you debunkers make that same mistake.
You defend the truth.
quote: It seems you only give NASA credit for fantasies
You believe events happened that are independently verifiable.
quote: and then forget they exist when reality happens along.
I wish I could just make the evidence would just go away so that I would be right and people would worship me. The medications have worn off and the micro-astronots are attacking my feet. AAAAAAAAA. Get it off me! Get it off me!! [/sarcasm]

*CHOKE* He doesn't respond? (responds to critics with ad hominem attacks, responds to ad hominem attacks with more pictures, responds to... .... .... ERROR .... ERROR .... CANNOT COMPUTE)
*fizzles and dies*
Ok. Now that I have that out of my system, back to your regularly scheduled piperisms.
