The majority of regulars at this board are definately not representative of the rest of the world... Most people are good skeptics, and some (like me?) are skeptic wannabees. Then there is the eventual goofball fundie(tm), at the opposite side of the scales (we all know who he is).

Is this an inside joke? Or am I the target of something I fail to understand.

He's talking about verlch.....

People in general knowledgeable about critical thinking, no.

People on this forum, mostly yes.

And the people on this board who don't get critical thinking, probably won't due to their own rigid thinking patterns. So since they fundies aren't learning and the rest of the members already know, I would invite you to join in on the subjects here instead of posting critical thinking truisms.

I suspect that you make the same mistake almost everyone makes when they see or hear about Critical Thinking. Everyone knows that they think. Everyone knows that they are inclined to be critical. Thus everyone concludes that they are Critical Thinkers.

I use the phrase Critical Thinking to mean a course of study. Critical Thinking as I use this phrase is a course of study equivalent to 6-hours of college level credit. It is somewhat like combining Logic 101 and 'epistemology for dummies'.

Our school systems have begun teaching Critical Thinking. Our colleges and universities are doing likewise. No doubt some few adults have been taught Critical Thinking and some fewer have learned on their own this subject matter. If that small group of adults include you then I am sure you will appreciate my efforts to bring to the attention to all adults the value of understanding this matter.

Again, most people that are regulars here have completed such course work or have shown a basic grasp of critical thinking. Verlch and his ilk have reveled in their rejection of such concepts.

While I do appreciate your efforts, I think they would be better spent in other fora where such an effort would be reaching more of the general population. Posting them here is just preaching to the choir.
