Whilst browsing through various works of esoteric information of no interest or value to anyone save those that spawned them, I happened to come across this ray of light shining through the murk of fossil research in general, and dinosaur fossils in particular. There is a great deal of other wisdom, as well.

I really must commend it's author. He put a lot of time, thought, and labor into this, a definitive, albeit all too brief, master work.

Well done, sir, I say! Well done, indeed!

quote:
Introduction

When children go to a dinosaur museum, are the displays they see displays of science or displays of art and science fiction? Are we being deceived and brainwashed at an early age into believing a dinosaur myth? Deep probing questions need to be asked of the entire "dinosaur industry".

This article will discuss the possibility that there may have been an ongoing effort since the earliest dinosaur "discoveries" to plant, mix and match bones of various animals, such as crocodiles, alligators, iguanas, giraffes, elephants, cattle, kangaroos, ostriches, emus, dolphins, whales, rhinoceroses, etc. to construct and create a new man-made concept prehistoric animal called "dinosaurs".

Where bones from existing animals are not satisfactory for deception purposes, plaster substitutes may be manufactured and used. Some material similar or superior to plasticine clay or plaster of Paris would be suitable. Molds may also be employed. A 144-page book titled "Make Your Own Dinosaur Out of Chicken Bones" provides step-by-step instructions complete with detailed drawings and diagrams.

From the reference:

Aaaahhh. That explains it perfectly. Obviously anything one disagrees with must be the work of good old lucifer. With this level of reasoning skills, how do these people even find the "ON" button on the computer?

The foundation of morality is to . . . give up pretending to believe that for which there is no evidence, and repeating unintelligible propositions about things beyond the possibliities of knowledge.

I was just about to ask why in the world would there be such a vast conspiracy to deceive everyone with the existance of dinosaurs. And of course, as your quote shows, the answer can only be that it's all part of Satan's grand plan. He's a very clever fellow, that Satan. Very clever indeed.

This will make somebody mad, but...I believe the biggest "hoax" on mankind is religion. It, to me, is something akin to mass hysteria. Religious people like this guy seem to have no problem finding hoaxes and conspiracies in dinosaur bones and lunar landings, yet they talk about THIS:

quote:
However, there are many, many homes and residences that do not have this video, which is expensive for many. A cheaper and quicker way for today's Christians to communicate to those left behind on earth after the rapture is to simply post a message in an obvious spot, such as on a refrigerator or freezer door, where it will be seen. This is the message which I have posted on my refrigerator door:

"I am writing this to you in the past. In your present time, the church (believers in Jesus Christ) has been raptured, and has been taken out of this world to be present with the Lord. You have been left behind. To gain eternal life and salvation, and to be with Jesus Christ, you must accept Jesus Christ as your saviour from sin and refuse to take the mark of the beast on your hand or forehead and refuse to worship the beast and his image or statue, even if it means you have to die.
http://internet.ocii.com/~dpwozney/rapture.htm

Please, do me a favor, the day I believe in any of that Left Behind, Rapture horror, just shoot me. I don't want to go wherever they're headed.

No matter what you write, there is somebody - somewhere - who'll get pissed off about it, so you're stating the obvious.

Wulfstan, if you really want to piss off the believers, and happen to live in the Bible Belt, write a brief rant about taxing the churchs and send it to Letters to the Editor in your local newspaper.

HOO BOY!! I did one a couple of years ago and still haven't heard the end of it.

I saw another article on dinos yesterday. It had to do with scrabbling about in WY for fossils, proving the Flood and blather, blather, blather. I'll see I can find it again.

I have a hadrosaur tooth. Got it at a garage sale, someone sold grandpa's rock collection without knowing what it was. And, one of those scientific guys that are in on the conspiracy identified it for me. (Burke Museum, Artifact Day, U of WA) Amazing how well coordinated that conspiracy is.

Personally, I like what Mark Twain had to say about the "Hereafter":

"Man is a Religious Animal. He is the only Religious Animal. He is the only animal that has the True Religion -- several of them.
He is the only animal that loves his neighbor as himself and cuts his throat if his theology isn't straight.
He has made a graveyard of the globe in trying his honest best to smooth his brother's path to happiness and heaven…
The higher animals have no religion. And we are told that they are going to be left out in the Hereafter.
I wonder why? It seems questionable taste...The Lowest Animal essay, 1897"

That essay is included in Letters From The Earth-Uncensored Writings By Mark Twain It's pretty amusing--his take on Noah's Ark, especially so.

In the essay from which you quote,(part of That Damned Human Race) he argues that we are the Lower Animals descended from the Higher Animals, since we do many stupid things. One example he uses it that we kill more than we can eat and use--for sport and cruelty*, whereas when he put several goats before an anaconda, it ate one and then was pleasantly content and harmed none of the others. He finds that man's great primal affliction is the Moral Sense: the ability to recognize good from evil, and the ability to do evil. (this is different from morals aka codes of conduct which all animals have)...no other animal recognizes evil or good. Also, only man blushes.

Mr. Wozney is sticking Post-it-Notes on refridgerators-Higher Animal or Lower Animal??

, ......or needs to.

It's been many years, indeed decades, since I've read Letters. I think maybe I'll pick it up again.
