Heard this story on NPR on the way home tonight. The web site blurb is:
An anti-abortion activist is being sued for pretending to offer abortion services to pregnant women seeking the procedure. The Louisiana man is accused of stalling women who called his listing, under abortion services, until it was too late for them to have an abortion.
Apparently, the class-action lawsuit is seeking child support for all the children this guy helped bring into the world through allegedly purposeful inaction.

I so hope that this guy looses that law-suit. It would serve him well.

That is so wrong.... hope he gets his ass sued off.

Evil appears in many strange guises, does it not?

Is there anything criminal that this grifter can be locked up for -- fraud being fraud, after all?

If she was terminating for medical reasons, then definitely, but I don't see any other law that he broke. Is being a fraud against the law? (cause I know some chiro-quacks and pseudoscience people around my area.... I would sure like to get rid of them)

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

Actually, fraud is against the law. I believe you have to show you were harmed. So a lot of quackery fraud goes on but only extreme rip off cases ever get prosecuted.

It would be interesting for someone to take a chiropractor to court based on fraud. At least in civil court anyway, maybe they could get their money back.

I heard a bit of the NPR program also. I don't think you could fool many people for very long before they went looking for another provider. I wonder what those people thought they were accomplishing?
