Is this a big enough topic to warrant its own forum? For me it is subject #1 because of its potential impact and cross-ology importance...
Anyway heres an article about changing UK policy on climate change. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/3654042.stm [Moved to the General Skepticism folder - Dave W.]

"...things I have neither seen nor experienced nor heard tell of from anybody else; things, what is more, that do not in fact exist and could not ever exist at all. So my readers must not believe a word I say." -Lucian on his book True History
"...They accept such things on faith alone, without any evidence. So if a fraudulent and cunning person who knows how to take advantage of a situation comes among them, he can make himself rich in a short time." -Lucian critical of early Christians c.166 AD From his book, De Morte Peregrini |

Well, BigPapaSmurf, the policy towards creating new folders within the forums which I've mostly tried to promote is this: if discussion of a topic is "clogging" other folders (such as "General Skepticism"), then it deserves a folder all its own. Secondly, the topic should be of a skeptical bent to begin with.
With those things in mind, if you can generate enough interest in the skeptical discussion of various climate-change issues, we'll make another folder for it. "Enough" and "clogging" being judgement calls for the staff to make.
Until then, if you want to skeptically discuss climate change, the appropriate folder would be "General Skepticism," which is where I will move this thread. |
