At least according to some of the far, far, far, far right:
Millions of Christians and conservatives continue to labor under the obviously erroneous belief that G.W. Bush is a conservative, that there is some huge difference between his policies and those of his Democratic rival, John Kerry. However, the facts do not bear this out.
And yes, the page is being hosted by Christian Exodus, the group which wants to take over (for lack of a better term) South Carolina.

Clearly many groups of normally right voting individuals are unhappy with one or more aspects of Bush, the Evangelicals are not happy about Cheneys comments on gay marriage, previosly threatening to pull their vote unless an amendment was passed. Some rights are passionate about environment and some are pissed about the war details or torture, etc. Nader will see some of those votes and some will abstain, hopefully in bunches.

Unfortunatly my brain just doesnt fathom some folks and I cant see Bush winning the election even though he leads the polls at the moment. I just cant understand how this person could be chosen again, I know its possible but my brain cannot grasp how.

I think this is the big problem among liberals and other anti-Bushers.
Its hard to understand how millions of people can be ready to vote for these induhviduals (B& C), with the information that we have accepted.
This lack of understanding might give Bush another term.

But lets not forget that the an even larger group doesn't care for Bush but will still not vote for the only alternative. If even a small part of this group can be convinced to vote....

Of course, the best alternative would be to elect a true constitutional conservative as President. And the only such candidate for this year's election who meets that criteria is Michael Peroutka of the Constitution Party.

Lets get this clown on as many ballots as possible. (To late?)
Help them like the republicans help Nader.

Can this group get any more whacked? Bush is apparently neither Christian enough nor conservative enough for them.

quote:
Recently, many "pro-lifers" heaped voluminous praise upon Mr.
Bush when he decided to withhold a miniscule (by comparison)
$34 million in federal funds from UNFPA (a UN abortion agency
in China). What these ignorant (or deluded) "pro-lifers" failed to
notice was that Bush redirected that $34 million to USAID Child
Survival Health Program Fund. This fund includes money for
"forecasting, purchasing, and supplying contraceptive commodities
and other materials necessary for reproductive health programs."

In other words, all President Bush did was play the old shell game
by taking $34 million from one pro-abortion agency and giving it
to another pro-abortion agency. As American Life League
President Judy Brown said, "These 'contraceptive commodities'
are nothing but abortion-inducing chemicals that kill the very
children that the fund claims to help."

I never knew that condoms killed children. I suppose if a kid swallowed one....

Starman, don't forget the next line after those you quoted:
Of course, the best alternative would be to elect a true constitutional conservative as President. And the only such candidate for this year's election who meets that criteria is Michael Peroutka of the Constitution Party. It is for the above reasons and more that I was happy to accept Michael's invitation to be his Vice Presidential running mate.
So the article was written by (technically) a veep candidate.

Read something today that the FL Supreme court ruled to add Nader to the ballot in FL... which sucks bigtime. The toad is likely to get alot of votes. Enough to pull Kerry's numbers down a point or two in the final tally.... and everyone is already saying that it's gonna be close in FL again.

Unless I'm mistaken, you just referred to Ralph Nader as a "toad." Please elaborate. I'm curious to see if you're an ass or simply uninformed. I'm hoping for the latter.

I literally stood up and cheered when I saw on the news that the courts had rejected the efforts of the (anti-)Democratic Party to keep him off the ballot in Florida. They just failed in Colorado as well, thank goodness.

I guess the good guys DO win a few, every once in a while...

A vote for Nader is a vote for Bush in this election.

Ralphy (whom I voted for myself in 2000) needs to sit this one out entirely. He will only help Bush get back in the office for another 4 years.

Paladin is not considering the consequences of a vote for Nader in this election. Personally I like Nader, which is more than I can say about either Kerry or Bush.

However, I am aware that the consequence of voting for Nader again will only increase the chance that Bush gets elected again.

Actions should be driven by consequence, not intention, if you know the consequence in advance. My vote this year will be driven by the consequences. If I vote for Nader I know the consequence will be a higher probability for Bush winning.

There is no circumstance under which Nader can win this election. Nader voters are so unlikely to vote for Bush (if Nader was not on the ballots) that the net effect of voting for Nader is a decrease in votes for Kerry, resulting in 4 more years of G.W. Bush.

Not a tolerable situation in my opinion.

Dude, didn't Nader drop out of last election? I seem to remember that, but admittedly I'm not very political. Anyway, if he did, he lost all credibility in my opinion. You can try to motivate people once to vote in a 3rd party candidate. You don't drop out mid-way through and then try it again.

Also, why do you think he is running this time? I mean, all the polls I've seen put him at like 4%. He knows he's not going to win, so what's the motivation for running here? I don't get it....

If it were between two corporate candidates and Nader, you might have a point, Paladin. But this election is between one corporate candidate who started a war and one who protested the last really really bad war we were in. Idealistic Nader voters have a right to the candidate they want over the lesser of two evils, but the war, in this case, by far is a more important issue to protest with one's vote than any other issue.

I agree that Nader should have the right to be on the ballots. He and others have the right to work to get Bush elected and I have the right to despise those people.
