The latest "Windsurfing" ad from Bush.

Lets see the obvious reply:
A "Moron on segway" ad symbolizing his competence as Commander in chief

Is there a video of this episode, or maybe of his bicycle or pretzel adventures?

I will never, ever forgive this group of Republicans for this low-down-dirty campaign. And that includes Republicans I used to respect: Bob Dole, McCain, and Giuliani.

I hate them.

There was a new campaign ad I saw answering "Windsurfing".

It starts off with 1,000 American dead, Quagmire in Iraq, and George Bush answers these issues with a juvenile attack ad.

Right tone and message, but I feel it could have been better...

I should have gone into the political ad business, seems profitable.

I am surprised you put McCain in that group. Remember Bush implied that McCain was a traitor, because after days of torture McCain (like everyone else in the prison camp) signed statements denouncing the US. IF you haven't seen it, you should watch the movie Hanoi Hilton.

The Bush campain also phoned people in North Carolina to say that McCain was the father of a black child. Acutally he adopted a Bangledesh orphan.

McCain can't stand Bush. He is one of the few republicans that said the swift boat adds were despicable.

Thanks for linking to it. I was trying to find it, but couldn't. I didn't look far enough into the Kerry website.

I seemed rushed, but was a lot better quality than that of Bush's "Windsurfing".

Absolutely, the political ad business is very profitable.

McCain is supporting the President because he wants party support for a 2008 Presidential bid. He has still been a quick and vocal critic of dirty tricks unassociated with the issues of the election. He denounced loudly the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth(tm) ad quickest of everyone, he denounced the Move On PAC ad on GWB's Vietnam era service (joined by Kerry), and he's been quick to denounce attack ads that aren't based on the issues of the campaign relatively quickly. He does paint Kerry as a flip-flopper, but so does the rest of the Republican party. Dat's politics fer ya.

McCain clearly dislikes Bush's tactics and perhaps even the man himself. But he does know how the political game is played. Ya suck it up for the party unless the candidate really does something questionable/objectionable.

And what can be possibly wrong with fathering a black child (as a foreigner, I've no clue why it'd be so wrong for this individual in special, so, if any of you feel like clarifying it for me...)? Argh. I want to kill that man.

All true...but McCain has sold out! He stood up and gave a speech at the Republican National Convention supporting Bush! Sorry McCain has been exposed as a hypocrite and I am ashamed of his recent actions.

North Carolina is a haven for racial bigotry in the US. The charge of a white man fathering a black child dovetails nicely into the racial prejudice prevalent in the area to dissuade people from voting for McCain.

It's one of the US's social struggles.

Siberia,

Valiant answered the why to your question. One point I would like to make - stating that you would like to kill the president on an open forum is probably not a very good idea. Freedom of speech only goes so far...

Well I can't find it right now, but there is also an MTV version of the windsurf ad being sarcastic about Kerry wanting to act 'cool' as well as flip-flopping.

It's even more stupid.

astropin said it perfectly: McCain sold out. He's a Republican toady. He endorsed the man who politically buggered him: Bush. (apologies for the vulgarity.)

McCain also supposedly one of the most conservative of the conservatives in terms of his voting record (and I'm too tired to document that...sorry!)

Probably true, there are alot of republicans who can't stand Bush. However, the true nature of US politics comes to light in these situations. Anything for power. He endorses Bush because he will be kicked out of the party if he doesn't.

This was done in the SC 2000 primary. The NRA (an organization that I used to respect) along with the christian coalition teamed up and launched a massive push-poll campaign. A push-poll is when you call somebody up and pretend to be taking a poll. You ask them questions like, "Would you vote for a white presidential candidate who was the father of a black baby?", and, "Would you vote for a presidential candidate who's wife has been convicted of a drug crime?", and "Would you vote for a presidential candidate who signed anti-US statements and denounced the USA while he was fighting in Veitnam?"

Then you make sure they get a second copy of that flier you mailed them last week that has a picture of McCaine on the front and a list of his alleged shortcommings.

The end result? Political assassination of your opponent. Don't think for a second that W and Rove and Cheney did't know exactly what the 527's were doing in 2000.
