I just heard this troubling report on NPR's Media Matters. The general thrust is that much of our fine members of Congress get fantastic trips to even more fantastic locales all paid for by, well, lobbiests and industry. This is against ethical rules. Worse, though, is that the ethics committe apparently refuses to do anything about this!

Isn't it a problem that policy can be decided not by ideas, but by which group offers the best trip?
