Rickm, Jarheads, are in general, mentally warped enough to take a derogatory term and wrap themselves in it to make it their own and lose its derogatory meaning. Now, how do I know this - Well let's see, I've gone by the names - Devil Dog, Devil Bitch (close friends only please), Jarhead, Leatherneck...I'm sure there are a few that are missing. But see, you can't insult a Marine, we'll take your insult and make ourselves known by it.

I keep getting tricked into looking at these polls when there are no new posts. But I do see that the pro God/Jesus votes are growing. However, except for tergiversant (The question of "What do you mean by God?" is vital. Towards some gods, it is rational to be agnostic, towards others atheist, towards still others, credulous.) deity boosters are doing so without comment. So, I was wondering, if you vote YES to one degree or another that would indicate that you had information that I lack. How 'bout sharing it? What do you mean by god?

I live with a cat. When I open a can, the cat begins to worship me. Therefore, for a brief space of time, in my less than significent piece of the universe, I am a god.

F, - then you put on your house slippers AND discover the "present" your cat left in there for you, and once again reminded of your human feelings.

The cat and I have come to an understanding on that sort of thing. As long as The Almighty doesn't get any nasty suprises, manna will continue to fall from heaven and into her bowl with a disgusting PLOP (that's some nasty stuff in those cans).
But just to be on the safe side, I don't have any slippers.

When someone asks me my thoughts on god, I either say:
I'm agnostic. (I uses this very rarely.)
or
Yes, and I'm on my way to see her.
At this point they either try to stone me or if they've heard the Dishwalla song "Counting Blue Cars" and are liberal and open minded, then they get a little laugh out of it.

I explain that I'm an Axian out to destroy Christianity.
Then I invite them for supper.
(Actually I never had the guts to do that. Something to do with self-preservation I think.)

I'm still trying to find my own personal and revealed god. Is he/she on sale at K-Mart?

Who says you have to spend the money?

And when do you ever hear about god and not about money shortly there after? (In the same breath?) It's all about MONEY. The Xians love the stuff so they even put their slogan on it.
Once, while in the service, I visited friends in St Louis (no, I didn't have trouble getting through Rebel lines--who said that?) I went with their family to Sunday services at theit Methodist Church. The sermon was about Roman Catholics and what money grubbing bastards they were. They had forgotten Christ, believed in salvation by deeds and cared for nothing but money, money, money. During this service the plate was passed seven times. That's seven (7) not the two times that the money grubber RC's pass it, seven.
Some wag here (and if I find out who.....) has given my real name to the CRI. I get tele-marketing calls monthly. The most recent was for money because the WTC was destroyed--a vulture call.

My choice isn't on there. 'No', and if that is not enough, an evil grin and 'I worship Lillith, Dark Lady of Disorder. Now I must go sacrafice a goat' or somthing to that effect.
