This is even more depressing than RR:
quote: The Patriot Act of 2001 was democratic action par excellence. Passed by overwhelming majorities in both the House (357#8211;66) and Senate (98-1), it was a textbook case of American legislators, led by the President, acting in swift response to the clear needs, and manifest will, of the citizens of the Republic.
Since its inception in 1920, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has made a name

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.
Another example of this guy's lunacy here. |

To continue:...for itself by blocking the actions of the legislative and executive branches of government, especially at the state and local levels.
Most of the ACLU's wrath has been directed against statutes, i.e., laws that were democratically enacted but (for one reason or another) were deemed unacceptable by the ACLU. The people who talk about crap like this simply do not understand the way the government is supposed to work, especially how the judicial system is a check against mob rule.
The person who posted the above whining later told a story about how the ACLU isn't interested in attacking the unconstitutionality of the "Gold Reserve Act of 1934." What a shocker! The ACLU isn't going to invest resources in attacking something which doesn't attempt to remove Constitutional rights from the populace. Where does the Constitution grant the right to own gold coin, anyway?
Why not fault the ACLU for not fighting against library fines, too? |

Ah yes, the freepers. Idiots.
It might be fun to remind them that the ACLU filed a Friend of the Court paper opposing the release of the motormouth and dope fiend, Rush Limbaugh's medical records to the FL prosecuters.
I'd do it, but I've been banned, under different handles, several times from Free Republic. I no longer care much about what these turkeys have to say. In spite of the noise they make, they are pretty much nonentities. They are however, very good at swamping on-line polls by dumping cookies and voting numerous times apiece. They really believe that on-line polls mean a lot. :roll eyes:
Idiots.
