Two new tracts: Squatters & Little Bride.
This time our brother in Christ explain the natures of Islam and the conflict in Palestine.
Hardly future classics but it always interesting to visit an other reality.

I especially liked the 'little bride'. 'Squatters' wasn't that great IMO. I especially liked how they totally ignore cruelty in the bible but criticize cruelty in qur'an. |

More contraditions though-- in the 'Little Bride' the girl suggests that Mohammed is a liar because some such book says that Mohammed claimed that Adam was 90 feet tall. One of the little girls cries "that's a lie!" But it isn't a lie that he lived to be hundreds of years old? The little Christian girl also seems to be miffed that Mohammed had multiple wives and slaves, but the whole damned Bible features various heroes doing such things!
Also, they rehash the old Allah-is-the-Moon-God thing. I don't know much about the religion of late pre-Islamic Middle East-- I need to do more reading on that. Still, the easy counter is Yahweh-is-the-Storm-God and be done with it... |

Which makes not all too surprising that some of the most fervent collectors of Jack Chick tracts are to be found amongst the atheists. I remember a thread on christianforums where the Chick tracts were brought up. Most christians didn't like them one bit (especially the moderate ones). Even the fundies weren't especially hyped about them. The atheists on the other hand... |

I can't speak for the believers, but I personally love Chick tracts. They are so preposterous and it brings a little joy into my day to view the works of someone even crazier than myself.
Is it my imagination, or has his art taken a turn for the better? It was getting pretty dismal for a while there.

... wait. Is that supposed to be pro or counter the Bible? I had a good chuckle when they called the poor, unsuspecting Russians and Chinese people into the war. |

I remember getting the one of these about the evils of role-playing when I was younger. I had a good laugh about it because I knew it was just bunk since I was playing D&D with friends at the time.
Then in collage I ran into a group of people that believed every word in one of these things. That scared the shit out of me, not that people wrote this stuff, but people believed it without a whole lot of prof. It shook my faith in the average intellingence of my fellow human.
I still get queazy when I see one of these things. |

At first, when I was reading these tracts, I felt as if I were reading a spoof of the chick tracts. It doesn't make any sense that these tracts actually defaced God and mocked] Christianity, until I saw the validity of the website. Maybe these fools do not see this the same way as I, but I certainly understand what all of you are saying about the tracts' hilarity. I kept every tract I was given, but as so far as being a fervent collector, they all have seem to have gotten lost... |

It is my understanding that Chick himself hasn't drawn a tract in three years or so. In the words of someone on the Web, he just "calls them in." |

Little Bride has more of the same bullcrap about Mohammed. Claims of a pedophile which are based on one line in a Hadith considered incomplete and invalid.
Squatters is a complete farce considering it's the old rehashed accusations against the Catholic church and ignores the fact that "Bible believing Christians" didn't exist before the Prodestant Reformation in the 1500's.
Chick pisses me off sometimes with his twisting of religious texts to fit an invalid premise. |

Has he not? I should pay more attention, I suppose.
I don't collect 'em. I just get a chuckle out of 'em when I happen to stumble across 'em.
At least the hero in Little Bride, in spite of being monocular, doesn't look like a '50s vintage porn star, as did 'Bob'.

Anyone else notice how they slipped in a reference to terrorism in the Little Bride when the muslim mother calls the boy away because they "have to go to the airport?" Or am I reading to much into it?
