Carlos had no claim, per the rules of the million-dollar challenge. There can be no contention of this point, the rules are clear.
Could his attempted claim have been handled better? Perhaps.
Is that a good reason to start a four-year vendetta against Randi and the JREF? I don't think so. In fact I think it's a sign of a pathological obsession, but I'm no psychiatrist.
Is it a good reason for you, Latinijral (not Carlos), to commit your own mudslinging? Surely not. |

Nice try but your lack of knowlage about stats as let you down. The odds for the preliminary challange are 1000 to 1. The odds of the above test are not anywhere near that

Randi referred to the last test to say that as he had failed in the third task he showed no ability over random chance - totally ignoring the first two tests where he scored 100%. Not the action of a true sceptic, given the success rate on 1 & 2 I would have wanted a more scientific set of tests on the first two scenarios.
Randi has performed many tests of dowsers. Every one I've read about came out as no different from chance, and none of them were set up as you describe. I, too, would like to know more details of the tests you describe. |
