In The True Spirit of Xmas: How 4/5 of the country became an oppressed minority, Julian Sanchez examines an interesting phenomenon:It's a Christmas tradition as venerable as mistletoe and caroling: As the days grow shorter, conservative activists claiming to speak for American Christendom raise their voices, not for a rousing round of "Good King Wenceslaus," but to complain that the roughly 75 to 80 percent of Americans who profess allegiance to some denomination or another of Christianity constitute a cruelly oppressed minority. The "victim mentality" is a pretty ugly thing. Does combating it by pointing out the truth really make a difference, or do the newly-found "victims" turn a deaf ear?

I consider it to be blather from a minority of off-balance Christians such as Falwell et al. They suddenly have some sembelence of power and are trying to push it. These have a long history of 'Christian persucution' sniveling.
This sort of crap will eventually come back to bite them, as it does everyone.
The True Spirit of Christmas is cheap whiskey.
