Hi all,
after nearly a year of lurking I think it is time for me to start posting
So, let me introduce myself a bit.
First, I have no clue how I ended up on this site, but that's the beauty of the internet, you never know where you end up after a few hours of surfing.
I'm 25 years old, I live in The Netherlands, my political views are on the left side of the spectrum and I'm an atheist.
Well, that's my introduction. Sorry for any grammatical errors I might have made and probably will make, I always mix up Dutch and English grammar (if you say in Dutch "I went to home" it would be literally translated in to English as "I am to home went". You see, that's sort of confusing )

Welcome, Spock, to the SFN.
I don't remember how I found this site, either, but now I'm the editor.
We've got at least two other regular posters from the Netherlands, and many more from that general area of the world. And please don't worry about your grammar. If people have trouble understanding you, they'll ask. |

Welcome Spock
I myself found this site while googling for information on scientific creationism. Even though it isn't much of an issue here it never hurts to stay on top of these things.
Incidentally, are you the same Spock as the one from the Discworld MUD? The way you describe yourself seems to fit very well :)
Anyway, i'm looking forward to reading your posts. |

I Spock.
I'm sure I must have found this site through someone on the Bad Astronomy forum but I can't really remember either. But I must ask, how can one be quiet for a year? I have to give my opinion on everything. |

Hello Spock!
I found this site while reseaching Dr. Dino. Are you a fan of the StarTrek TOS character Spock, or the synth/techno-pop band S.P.O.C.K? |

Hello!
I'm 20, atheist, leftist (as in closer to communism - leave me alone with my hopeless idealism) and I, too, mix portuguese grammar and words with english grammar and words.
Oh, and I found SFN from Bad Astronomy's link page. |

Howdy Spock!
I've been here so long, I've forgotten where the door is. That can happen to you at SFN.
Looking forward to your input.

That actually sounds like the English spoken by the character Yoda in the Star Wars movies, so it's far less confusing to us Star Wars fans than you might think.

I lurk a lot also. Somebody needs to read the input of the other members of this forum. Since I have a limited amount of time to be online, I usually read YOUR input and do not feel the necessity for adding my boring replies too often. Therefore, there are some of us who read the replies of others alot and do not have much leftover time to participate. It is a great site and the discussions of others here are much too interesting to ignore. Therefore, I am a LURKER. Just think of all of the boring stuff that I could write ad infinitum which you do not need to read.

Hey guys, just remember not to confuse him with SFN-member Mr. Spock. He doesn't write much these days though. |

That's the main reason I was lurking for months, usually somebody else already made a reply that said what I was thinking. But as you stated, the discussions are very interesting and give me a better and broader view on various subjects.

Not really a fan but I do like StarTrek

No that's not me. That Discworld MUD looks interesting though

Hm.. is it possible to change my name? This could be confusing indeed. |
