I found it when searching "Creation or Evolution" or something of the like after just learning about Creationists.
As I've noted before, I'm pretty sure I found the site after trying to find more shit on Hank Hanegraaff and his sham CRI organization (and of course, his laughable radio program). I lurked for awhile before posting, though. It took verlch and his crazy petrified trees thread to get me started... |

I was extremely bored, so I started clicking every single link from Bad Astronomy... so I read around, lurked a little and got hooked. |

I was looking for someone to chat with that shared the same skeptical interests as myself. So,I googled agnostic chats and this website popped up. |

There's usually a chat Sunday evening starting around, I think, 7:00 EST.
I don't recall exactly how I found this bit of digital Bedlam -- was probably looking for something else and got sidetracked, per usual, but I've pretty much called it home ever since.

A woo woo site linked the SFN?
Why do you think they're called woo-woo sites?

Welcome to the SFN, Crystalsicles!
As I said in that other thread, I don't remember how I got here. I do remember, though, that I found the SFN in one of its previous incarnations, because the "look" was completely different (but the Kil Report and other article sections were here). That means I found the site prior to April of 2001. And believe it or not, I lurked until January of 2003, when I became a registered member. Although I must say that my lurking was an intermittant thing, as I remember coming back at one point, and finding thousands of new posts about 9/11 (far too many to even start reading, so I never bothered). Anyway, seeing as I've got a job here now, I'm in it for the long haul. |

It was so long ago, I don't recall exactly. I think I was researching 6-day creationism, and tried to find out who that guy was that insisted on dinosaurs was contemprary with man. Sites on Dr. Dino popped up, and along critical websites (or perhaps the Google-search itself) somehow I stumbled onto a link pointing here. I registered 5th of February 2003 I'm trying to find my first post, but the closest I've gotten was 2003-02-09, four days after I registered, but I'm sure I posted the same day I registered since I had to in order to post. |

The first post I wrote here (that I could find. With complete access to the database it would be simple enough but @tomic is too busy for such things...):
My first post, scroll halfway down to see it. Very short and concise, nothing but condensed substance. No nonsense bullshit. (the topic was locked so I couldn't retrieve the post-number, with help from Dave I've fixed the link to my post.)
My second post has more flesh on it, discussing Drake's Formula. |
