We don't need Larry Flint nor Hugh Hefner to get porn any more. We now have General Motors and the arch pornographer, Rupert Murdoch, he of Fox fame, among others, to show us all the skin that there is. quote: The last presidential election, we were told ad nauseum, was decided on "moral values." But what about the GOP's porn connection. As the Washington Post's Terry Neal recently wrote, "corporate leaders at companies as diverse as News Corp., Marriott International and Time Warner can profit by selling red-state consumers the very material that red-state culture is supposed to despise. Those elites then funnel the proceeds to the GOP, which in turn has used the money to successfully convince red-state voters that the other political party is solely responsible for the decline of the civilization." Neal cites two court cases involving so-called pornographic films--in Utah and Ohio--that have revealed in two of the "reddest" areas in America, the "community standards" included a huge consumption of porn, even among Mormons.
Why, I wonder, is not Falwell, Robertson, and that Dobson clown shaking the shingles off the church roof in sermons of condemnation?
Oh, right... It's done by big contributers to the Republican Party, so it must be righteous porn. No double standards here.....

Because, my friend, they're too busy attacking that icon of liberalism for getting into the porn business, or something like that... http://www.family.org/cforum/fnif/news/a0035237.cfm http://news.bostonherald.com/localRegional/view.bg?articleid=63619&format=

quote: Also, Rupert Murdoch--owner of Fox News and an ardent pro-Bush conservative--"makes more money selling graphic adult films through its satellite subsidiary [EchoStar] than Playboy, the oldest and best-known company in the sex business, does with its magazine, cable and Internet businesses combined."
Nice!
The nice people over at Focus on the Family are ardent supporters of FOX...

So, does that make them porn advocates as well? I'd have to say yes.
