The time is 19:00h Server Time. The chat has been on for five hours, and all chatters have left for other chores.
You are still welcome to drop in, but the chat-sign is taken down, and no moderator will be present. |

Members attended: Dr. Mabuse, BigPapaSmurf, latinijral, Siberia, Storm, the ignored, Trish. Kil dropped in to check that the moderator was doing his job...
Storm wondered how skeptics can appreciate ghosts-movies, like The Haunting and The Others. Rumours were spread that the final Harry Potter will be awful.
Siberia flaunted her new Photoshop creation.
latinijral dropped by, stayed a short while.
Fate/karma versus superstition and belief. Where do deities fit in? And where does the atheist stand. Can an atheist, who rejects deity/ies, believe in fate/karma? Discussion continues over here...
Story elements of the new testament being mostly lifted from other fertile cresent/persian pre-biblical societies. (Thanks for reminding me, BigPapaSmurf)
Storm posted a link (that was lost got it back, thanks Storm) of someone who compiled a long list of various beliefs regarding the conscious mind. Including but not limited to paranormal explanation. This prompted a discussion of science vs. New Age thinking: Is science the only good guide to the Real World, or are other philosophies equally good?
More philosophy, Lucretius & Epicurus. Occult: Alchemy became Natural science, Astrology became Astronomy. With the transition through science superstition has been replaced with scientific knowledge. Everyone but Storm agreed that that was the way it should be. (Storm, if you disagree, let me know, but this was the impression I got from the discussion)
Finally the discussion reached Out of Body Experience. Storm claimed several occasions of OoBE, however, to Trish, the ignored, and Dr. Mabuse this all sounded like sleep-paralysis. However, in fairness, together we tried to devise a test through which Storm could gather evidence that her OoBE indeed was a true disembodied consciousness. |

What? I'm a shameless advertiser That link doesn't work, by the way. You've to take the br out of its end.
Plus!
Mab and the others learned a new word from Sibby and Latin: beijos. That's portuguese for kisses (beijo meaning kiss). Sibby revealed her utmost desire to marry Keanu Reeves... and look! Devil's Advocate was on TV when she went to sleep It's a sign, I tell you, it's a sign... Mab ran out of beer, the poor thing.
And I'm crazy, so sue me |

Hey I showed up for a few, Im not usually online at chat time.
I believe the discussion was about story elements of the new testament being mostly lifted from other fertile cresent/persian pre-biblical societies. |
"...things I have neither seen nor experienced nor heard tell of from anybody else; things, what is more, that do not in fact exist and could not ever exist at all. So my readers must not believe a word I say." -Lucian on his book True History
"...They accept such things on faith alone, without any evidence. So if a fraudulent and cunning person who knows how to take advantage of a situation comes among them, he can make himself rich in a short time." -Lucian critical of early Christians c.166 AD From his book, De Morte Peregrini |

So far just THE AWAKENING OF DREAMTIME, but there are so many to chose! Your latest looks great. The next one I download might be WHEN THE RAIN FALLS, RAVEL, SWORDSBANE, or FUCK VALENTINES DAY 1. I may have to just get them all.
Of course now I am wondering if I could get these in prints... |

My dear Siberia, I can easily see many of your pictures on the walls of students dorm rooms across the US. Wether you make any money off of that is another question, but one deffinetly worth looking into. |
