The famous portrat of the Virgin Mary, done in butter on bread with a skillet, is on tour with the objective of "raising spirituality" in our dispirited populace.

It is now in the Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum in 'Frisco where it has been accorded warm welcome and given presidential-level security, but seems to have inspired less than spirituality among it's viewers.
quote:
The sandwich is said to bear the image of the Virgin Mary in its grill marks. It was cooked 10 years ago by a Florida woman, who sold it in November to an Internet casino for $28,000. The casino took the sandwich on a nationwide tour, out of the goodness of its heart.

"People need to find spirituality these days,'' said Eric Amgar, the sandwich's advance man. "There's nothing wrong with helping them to do that.''

The sandwich was facing a spiritual tough sell in San Francisco, however, where absolutely no one thought the image was that of the Virgin Mary.

One might wonder how anyone knows what Ms. Mary looked like....

Yeah, probably... Sad, ain't it.

I would think that she might have looked a lot like Arab women today, that is, nothing like the paintings. I think she'd also have been a bit smaller.

Ah well, no matter. She could have actually looked like Ecentrica Gallumbits, the triple-breasted whore of Erotica V, and it would have blown right by people who would pay $28,000 for a stale sandwich (probably made with American Processed Cheese ), then brag about it.

We should be smarter than this.... Evolution, why hast thou deserted us....?

From the paintings made in Europe over the last few hendred years ???

Looks like Fay Wray to me. Maybe instead of trying to deliver spirituality, they should be looking for an equally impressive burnt offering of King Kong.

Goodonyer, San Franciscoites, for not being spiritually moved. Gawd, I love that city. If I could afford to live there, I would.

Now if a *fresh* cheese sandwich was made of fresh sourdough bread, brushed lightly with real butter, and grilled so that the aged cheddar oozed out of the crisp, tender bread, I might have a spiritual experience with it myself.

Amen, sister. Especially if it had a little not-too-crisp bacon on it.

I really shouldn't skip breakfast.

You say you're inviting me over for a snack?

Yes! Make the chedder extra sharp!

No way! It's Wynonna Judd. How can you not see it? It's so obvious!
