Are any of the regulars in this forum a Bush supporter? My guess is few to none and I think I know why. Do you?

Well, Bush supporters tend to be in the evangelical Christian crowd-- a fact which automattically disqualifies them from being skeptics (using the conventional definition of the term).
Bush supporters also tend to beleive the President even though it's been widely documented that his whole administration has engaged in a massive four-year campaign of lies and deceptions to push their agenda. That also tends to disqualify one from the ranks of skeptics.
That said, there are (or at least were) some from the more libertarian side who support(ed) Bush. However, since Bush has time and again acted in decidedly anti-libertarian ways (amazingly, he has yet to veto a bill from Congress), I imagine that their support for him over the last 2-3 years has dwindled.
So why do you ask, chaloobi? |

While I generally despise everything he has done and stands for I do respect the hell out of him for actually trying to force through what he truly believes. (Yes I respect UBL for that reason as well) |

Let's just say that if I saw Bush crossing in front of a speeding train, I wouldn't shout for him to stop... oh well, I would. I'm a good person (no, really! I am! Stop laughing!). But he's a bitch. |

I don't know any reason people here would support him less than any other President. They're all criminals. They all either are religious or feel they have to put on a show of support for superstitions. They all lie. |

Turning and turning in the widening gyre The falcon cannot hear the falconer; Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all convictions, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand; Surely the Second Coming is at hand. The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert A shape with lion body and the head of a man, A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun, Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds. The darkness drops again; but now I know That twenty centuries of stony sleep Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle, And what rough beast, its hour come round at last, Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
The Second Coming -- W. B. Yeats

This board appears remarkably single minded when it comes to Bush. So I thought I'd ask to make sure. |

chaloobi, you might remember this old thread. Might be relevant to your question here, at least starting at the linked-to post.
Thanks for the link. I especially like this part of that post:
quote: If anything, a "leftie" viewpoint should be expected, as "righties" tend to try to impose restrictions on personal freedoms which don't harm others or society as a whole. The evidence by which conservatives attempt to support reductions or eliminations of such freedoms tends to be slim, non-existant, based upon taste, or even fraudulent.

A "leftie," meaning, what in other countries would be, a far right conservative. |

No, I think he meant left-handed people. All joking aside, what do you mean? |

I think hes trying to say that the euro left is on the infrared side of the spectrum whereas the american left is still in the orange.
Which I agree with completely, provided my interpretation is correct of course. |

That's my impression, but it would probably be wiser of me not to speak for Europeans, I guess. |

A bit different over here.
Liberals are considered to be to the right.
What is left and what is right is a bit subjective. I find the words Conservative - Liberal - Socialist of better value.
I'm a conservative liberal with socialist tendencies. I belive in individual freedom and responsibility as well as cooperation and solidarity (but not of the "someone else than me should pay for this" kind).
Bush is against all these ideas. |
