There are many -self named- skeptic organizations. In my experience reading about it ,I find 3 different versions/contradictions of how skepticism should be related to particular religious/deism beliefs. 1) You can be an skeptic and a deist . There is not contradiction on it. The James Randi Educational Foundation promotes this version. It is like a “soft” or “light” version of skepticism. And I am not talking about rock music. Some people think ( I am included) is only a JREF marketing trick in order to receive donations from religious people. It is only my opinion , I could be wrong. 2) There is a “hard core” of skepticism that promotes that a skeptic must be atheist since it is part of the entire goal of skepticism. That includes the combat/debunkery of religious beliefs. 3) Of course there is a group that don't match in the previous 2 categories. : the skeptics that promotes agnosticism as the best choice. They will believe in the “supernatural” once the evidence is presented. I want to know ,my SFN dear fiends, in what category do you feel you can match. If you think in neither of them ,please expose the reasons why. P.D.
