Interview from Hardball (scroll down 2/3 of the page).

It is fortunate that this raving lunatic managed to get himself fired for something as silly as bringing his pet rock to work.

I tried to read through the transcript. I really did, but I couldn't finish it. Now I'm going to have nightmares.

Part of the problem here is that Matthews is an idiot. Moore opened himself up several times and the Hardball host failed to do anything about it. Perhaps it's not his goal to demonstrate the intellectual vacuity of Moore's position, but then why intervew him at all if you aren't going to, well, play hardball?

During the elections, Jon Stewart commented several times that Hardball didn't play hardball at all.

There was one exceptional moment, though, with Zell Miller, if I remember correctly.

Geez, I remember that one. Zell Miller got completely unglued.

I remember it too. Of course, (in my opinion) Zell Miller is pretty loosely assembled to begin with.

Jon Stewart had some fun with Chris Matthews' unfortunate statement made during the aforementioned Hardball discussion:

quote:
FUND...But to take up with another woman, to have two children by her, and to still claim that he has the right to end her life, based only on a verbal statement that only he heard, I mean, those are very unsettling facts. That‘s why this case is...

(CROSSTALK)

MATTHEWS: Well, they may be unsettling. They‘re also fun—John, they‘re also fun to raise.

Bet he wishes he hadn't said that.

So was Moore pretty loosely assembled as I remember the Hardball interview. It is a good thing that fanatic was removed from the bench.
