One of my co-workers just showed me this item and went on and on about how beneficial it is. I looked it up online.
It isn't. It's crap science about on the level of magnets and crystals. This 2 inch (5 cm) square by 1/2 inch (1.75 cm) thick device is supposed to shield your bioenergy field from electromagnetic influences.
Stop laughing. They're serious.

quote: From the site:
The QLink is at the absolute cutting edge of quantum physics technology.
This statement in itself may need some explanation.
Most people have heard of molecules and atoms, but if one was to go even smaller (sub-atomic) one would find electrons, and even smaller than that photons and quarks. Imagine going even smaller (Super String Theory) and discovering a group of minute energies. They vibrate, or resonate, with each other (in sympathetic resonance). They are the most elementary form of energy.
What some scientists and engineers believe is that when these energies are clarified, they can be used more efficiently. When clarified through Sympathetic Resonance Technology (SRT™), then placed in the QLink, these refined energies will resonate with the body's own energy. The stronger signals (the purest, most refined ones) will help re-shape and clarify the weaker ones.
Not satisfied with quantum, (every one of these kind of devices is based on “quantum technology”) they have thrown in string theory as well. Val, your friend may be serious but this site is pure hucksterism. They are just lying.

Gotcha!!
Their main researcher(?) seems to be one Dr. Reye from Denver, CO. A quick google on her turned this up: quote: Welcome to Acacia Whole Health.
We invite you to join us in what we hope is the first step to a healthier, disease-free, pain-free, happier you. We want to be your informational source, your personal naturopathic clinic, your cheering section and support system, all in one. We know the simple, safe and effective ways to return to health, but you are the first and final factor in the equation. You and only you are responsible for the commitment to achieving a healthier body. Most diseases have the same basic underlying causes, which are faulty nutritional patterns, toxic drugs, lack of exercise, and stress. Tobacco, alcohol, environmental pollution, emotional and physical traumas, lack of rest and overeating only add to the weakening and breaking down of the body's natural defense.
Her biography speaks for itself and reads thus: quote: Dr. Tyteeka Reye
Dr. Reye has been practicing alternative health care for 30 years. She is a Master Herbalist, Naturopath, Naturologist and Homeopath. Her background in health includes three years at an alternative health clinic for the terminally ill in upstate New York and three years as a surgical technician in the traditional medical field. She has a Master degree in Theology from Brooks Divinity School and a Doctorate in Natural Health from the Institute of Holistic Theology in Youngstown, Ohio.
Dr. Reye's wellness philosophy includes re-establishing a balance of physical health through a detoxification program that allows the body to heal naturally and completely.
Dr. Reye is a respected health care advisor. Her diverse knowledge and easy presentation gives her the ability to both educate and empower her patients. Dr. Reye appeals to traditional and alternative health practices. She teaches, consults and lectures in both health care fields.
And then there's the snake oil (we knew there would be, didn't we?): quote: Detoxifying is critical to keeping the body in balance. Acacia Whole Health uses uniquely formulated nutritional products to assist the body with the detox process.
I saw no mention of the doc using q link, but as a reference, she's not confidence inspiring.
Now, I am all for a good diet and a decent amount of excersize. That alone will stave off many ills, but none of it will be enhanced by quantum humbuggery.

Guys... read the Q-Link disclaimer:
quote: - No specific claim regarding physical, structural or functional conditions is being made against electrical appliances, computers, mobile telephone technology etc.. However, electronic devices including mobile telephones emit EMF and research indicates that EMF at a minimum can cause stress or EMF dysfunction.
Funny, isn't it. Had it not been the sad reality that people fall for this scam, it should have been posted in the humour-folder. |
