quote: ``It made you feel a sense of empowerment and that you can accomplish anything,'' said Frydman, who was in Memphis Friday for the next Burger King retreat. She said the pain in her feet had subsided. ``It's really about mind over matter.''
What a bunch of morons!

And if rain brings winds of change let it rain on us forever. I have no doubt from what I've seen that I have never wanted more.

There probably is something which you can paint on the bottoms of your feet to protect them from the heat as you walk on hot coals. Perhaps the hot coals were not permitted to cool down sufficiently to permit walking without injury from the hot coals.

Well, in all fairness they did reach some enlightenment: ``The possibility of physical injury is too great,'' Preziosi said. ``You can certainly help employees develop courage and build teamwork without having them walk on coals.'' ...Well, DUH!
However I'd like to know what this is all about: ''corporate bonding''? The days of the 'company store' have been long over and that(corporate bonding) sounds like they want to 'own' you. (and no I don't and never have owned stock in that company)

quote: ``It was a great experience for everyone,'' said Dana Frydman, vice president of product marketing for Burger King and one of the event's organizers. Although Frydman was one of those injured, she has no regrets. ``It made you feel a sense of empowerment and that you can accomplish anything,'' said Frydman, who was in Memphis Friday for the next Burger King retreat. She said the pain in her feet had subsided. ``It's really about mind over matter.''
Not it isn't. There is a perfectly natural explanation for how we can firewalk without getting burned. But it can be dangerous as the folks at Burger King found out. Tony Robins used to push Firewalking as part of his motivational seminar. He dropped it when CSICOP debunked his premise that it was mind over matter. One or Two of their investigators took one of Robins walks without going to his seminar. They were not burned.

Could be. But you do not need to paint anything on your feet. The layer of ash on the coals cools sufficiently as your feet go across them. The ash is not a good conductor of the heat below.
Burger Kings burgers are flame broiled. Now a few of their execs are flame broiled too.
