Somebody pass me a barf bag.... My countrymen have no attention span and less memory.

But 'tis true, a BBC poll has made 'Dutch' the winner.

How many felony convictions did his administration have? 29, if memory serves. And how big a debt did he afflict us with? Not as big as our current one, but it was a whopper.

Greater than Washington, Lincoln, Jonas Salk, Ben Franklin, Will Rodgers, Franklin Roosevelt, Samuel Clemmins, and an endless host of others that actually had a beneficial impact on our country and culture? And they voted for fucking Reagan?

Go figger.....

I don't think Elvis or any politician would have been on my list.

And why did they pass up Arlo Guthrie?

My point is made.

It really is a lack of attention span and a certain laziness when it comes to anything beyond immedate gratification, I think. Many if not most, if not all of the people who actually vote in these things needs must have their information spoon-fed to them. And if it doesn't have a certain, cheap, tinny shine -- sequins and rhinestones and perhaps a patina of religion -- they'll spit it out like it had a fly in it. We all know this.

But I was gobsmacked to see that Reagan was rated above the likes of Franklin, without who's diplomacy with the French, bringing them into the Revolution, we would still be British.

Or Washington, who turned down the chance to become monarch.

I find myself appalled by the level of ignorance shown by this wretched poll.

This is a country that still hasn't inducted Johnny Rivers into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. (they did induct Woody Guthrie, though not all is lost)

Anyway, this is more proof that madness reigns if criminals like Reagan and Bush are people's idea of greatness.
