"...things I have neither seen nor experienced nor heard tell of from anybody else; things, what is more, that do not in fact exist and could not ever exist at all. So my readers must not believe a word I say." -Lucian on his book True History
"...They accept such things on faith alone, without any evidence. So if a fraudulent and cunning person who knows how to take advantage of a situation comes among them, he can make himself rich in a short time." -Lucian critical of early Christians c.166 AD From his book, De Morte Peregrini |

The right footprint looks like it might have a trilobite in it! Does Mr. Hovind know about this?
I am of the opinion, and it's only an opinion, that the continant was populated in more than one way by far more than one group of people. Why not by sea as well as the Bering land bridge?

There was an interesting show about this very topic on PBS recently, which made a compelling case that, with the seas being lower [and a shorter distance across], with icebergs to rest upon, and with the similarity of Soulutrian and Clovis points, and the amount of time between them, - oh and blood antigens that appear only in some Native Americans and some Europeans [and genetic drift data that indicates that this wasn't from mixing that occurred in the last 300-400 years]- that it's possible for at least some of the Native American populations have some European ancestry.
In addition, with the seas being higher now, and the fact that, even with today's transportation and technology, most of the earth's population still prefers to live near the water, it's likely that evidence that would tell much more of the story of hominid and human mobilization around the planet is under water. |

There is also the thought that provisions would be easier to get from the sea; seals, whales, fish, shellfish, and so forth. I've little doubt that at least some of our species exploited the seas throughout our existance. It's too rich a resource to pass up.
