So, one of the advantages of being bored at work and having nothing to do is, you end discovering totally pointless, and otherwise entertaining, stuff.
I found this site. Egyptian history, looks pretty good to me, thought some of you guys would like to check it out - Eternal Egypt.

I have to admire the Egyptian culture of antiquity. They managed to have a highly complex, cultured society which placed a strong emphasis on physical pleasure and the love of earthly life [in fact, I understand that they so loved their day-to-day lives that their vision of heaven was to be in an eternal afterlive exactly like Egypt] |

Thanks Siberia, really good site! |

An excellent site indeed.
The ancient Egyptians were the finest scientists of their day. Evidence of a glass factory dating back almost 4,000 years has been found.
Kinda reminds me; I have an article on alchemy concerning them that I'm undecided what to do with. It will eventually be published in a book as an aside from the main text, but in the meantime, it sits in the box. Perhaps I'll do a little revision (it needs some) and post it here. It's copywrited, but that'll be no hassle, as I own it.

Great graphics! - and that's just the opening page. Love the music, as does my cat who came over, purred and went to sleep on the table top right next to the speaker. |
Diversity, independence, innovation and imagination are progressive concepts ultimately alien to the conservative mind.

Indeed! Alchemy at it's best, eh?

Hey, Filthy, you could donate the alchemy book to the James Randi foundation library. |

Perhaps post it on the SFN homepage where the other articles are situated? You might get a wider readership than in one thread (no offense Siberia).
The thing I really like about this site are some of the "odd" facts one can learn. I always thought boomerangs originated only in Australia, apparently not. The Egyptians used them too, Tutankhamun was buried with a box full in the antechamber of his tomb. Here |

I would have thought that they came up with the concept independently. Wiki says they were only used by pharaohs to hunt birds. |
