The latest from factcheck.org:
"The disclosure of CIA agent Valerie Wilson's identity has triggered a partisan blame game complete with distortions and misstatements by both sides. Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman said the agent's husband Joe Wilson falsely claimed Vice President Cheney authorized his trip to Africa – a claim Wilson never actually made. Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid said on the floor of the Senate that the leak “put this agent's life in jeopardy,” a claim for which no evidence has surfaced.
Here we won't attempt to debunk every false or misleading claim. We thought our readers would be better served by a timeline documenting what is publicly known so far, with citations for each fact and links to original source whenever possible."

It is appalling that a member of the president's staff would commit such a treasonous act [whether or not he managed to dance on just the not-illegal side of the statutes], and I feel sympathy for Mr & Mrs Wilson, and the danger and disappointment that this attack on her career has caused.
But, watching Bushies demanding that people cool their jets and wait for evidence, and seeing flop-sweat on Scott McClellan - priceless! |

The best part is the video of Bush promising to fire anyone who leaked the name of a covert agent...
And then, very recently, changing his tune to say that he'll fire anyone guilty of a crime...
I don't care if these guys actually commited a crime or not. As high level administration officials they should know better than to speak the name of anyone that might be a covert op, in any context that would even remotely imply the person was a covert op, or even be willing to discuss anything of the sort with a fucking reporter.
I hope some of Bush's buddies go to prison over this one. He'll, of course, pardon them as he leaves office....
