It seems that the quoted poster in bold had it right, but anyway:

quote:
...It's amazing to me that the crew could get 297 people, plus themselves, off that plane in 90 seconds..............sounds like they were doing their job just fine, to me....

And don't forget, God was helping...isn't His Grace Amazing?

Right. Except remember this little gem

quote:
<edited to show how God's grace and mercy is evident to me>

This little fact is so interesting to me....the western coast must have lost 200 feet for the middle of the island to be moved over by 100 feet...or is it that the island actually moved that much??? Wow! God is so good, <that he is moving mountains to get their attention> and <all those millions of remaining> people still alive should be flat on their faces that they are still alive after a miracle like this!!!...

So, people survive, it's due to god's "grace", and when thousands upon thousands die, the others should be thankful that they're alive because god doesn't owe them anything?

This is why stuff like prayer is impossible to test..god will be put into whatever possible result that happens, so it's impossible to disprove.

What brought that on? this. Original posting here.

Another example of this guy's lunacy here.

I would have thought that the RR-lunatics would cheer gawd for downing a french plane on its way to Canada.
I'm positively surprised they favour this viewpoint.

Fred Phelps might think different.

Indeed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall that Freddy had a God Hates Canada campaign going, for who knows what perverse reason, a couple of years back.

I wonder how he'll react to finding out that suddenly God Loves Canada...?

I'm not sure how Fred feels about them, but for some reason God seems to be pretty pissed at the Boy Scouts.

The christian standard is:

If event is "good", then all praise and glory goes to god.

If event is "bad", then it is part of god's plan.

Sometimes if the event is "bad", it is the work of satan though. How do they tell the difference?

Wouldn't the work of satan also be part of god's plan? Is there any way to be outside the plan of an omnipotent being? Especially since the future (i.e. Revelations) is already set.

A European aeroplane used by a European airline company, landing in Canada. Obviously the crash was a stern warning from God.

Is it really so surprising that the crew managed to get everyone out in 90 seconds? I'm sure they've had lots of training for such situations.
