Wow! Just went to a garage sale where the patriarch had died and the kids were selling the estate items. I had never seen so many books in one place espousing why science was wrong and the Bible was right. They were mostly from the 50s and 60s with a few newer ones. There were young Earth books, evolution books, archeology supports the Bible books, and several just plain science is wrong books.

I have a couple old 'why evolution is wrong' books but I had no idea how prolific writers have been on these subjects in the past.

Biggest argument in the opening pages of the books I perused was, "scientists keeps changing their minds therefore they can't be right". And here we are 50 years later and we still have a large public that doesn't get it when it comes to interpreting new scientific data in light of old conclusions.

I bought a couple books on interpreting the coming apocalypse.

So? Are you going to let us know, or just keep us in the dark? I need to know if I should sell everything I have and buy a truck load of beer.

Why continue? Because we must. Because we have the call. Because it is nobler to fight for rationality without winning than to give up in the face of continued defeats. Because whatever true progress humanity makes is through the rationality of the occasional individual and because any one individual we may win for the cause may do more for humanity than a hundred thousand who hug their superstitions to their breast.

I reccomend doing this every couple of years anyway. Just for the hell of it.

I found a copy of "Creation-Evolution The Controversy" by Wysong (Inquirey Press) in an used-book store.

Since I bought many other books, I got a discount large enough to cover that book, and then some. So you could say I was paied to take the book...
