This is happening about 1 mile north of my house. Trying to get to the train station this morning and getting home last night sucks.

He's intelligent to have been able to defeat the tear gas, but not enough to realize that the longer this goes on, the more likely it is he will end up perforated.

Bummer indeed.

There s distinct possibility that he's dead, concievabley by suicide. That makes it rather like a blaster's hangfire. It didn't go off but it certainly could. Never the less, sooner of later, the blaster has to pull the charge and disarm it. Then again, the guy might be alive and decide to commit suicide by cop, and go out on a blaze of glory.

I rarely have much sympathy for the FBI, but in this case...

They sent in a robot. He's still alive.

Reportedly, he an ex-Marine. (explains why he knew how to defeat tear gas and not spook at the flashbangs.)

An ex-military guy here suggested wrapping the house in chain link fencing and then posting 4 officers at the scene to monitor the property. Then shut off water and electricity and wait him out.

That might work, depending on how crazy he is and how he's armed. But I doubt if the feds have the patience for it, as they've demonstrated in the past. And there's always the logistics of setting up the fence. There'd be a lot of guys potentially under the gun.

Hope it's over with soon.

Uncertainty may make you uncomfortable. Certainty makes you ridiculous.
